A reminder: People do not have to be BADGE members, have a child in the gifted program, or even live in Bensalem Township in order to attend BADGE meetings.  We encourage you to invite any friends, neighbors, or relatives who might be interested in learning more about gifted education to join us.

Meetings

Several times a year, BADGE schedules informative and thought-provoking programs ranging from presentations by experts in the field of gifted education, to forums for parents and teachers, to presentations by teachers, students, and former students.

Additional issue-oriented meetings are called as they are needed, and frequently committees are formed to work together on solutions to specific problems.

2016-17 BADGE meetings:

Thursday, October 20, 2016 - Curriculum Updates

Tuesday, January 17, 2017 - Gifted Questions and Answers - Parent to Parent

Thursday, March 23, 2017 - Spotlight on Middle School GT

 Information Tables

Often the parents with the most questions about gifted education are those whose children have not yet been identified. To reach these parents and others, BADGE volunteers offer information and handouts at the Back To School Nights, at 9th grade orientation, and at Bensalem Fall Festival http://www.tdbankamphitheater.com/fall-festival.html.

5th Grade Transition Party

In June,  BADGE sponsors a bowling party for the 5th grade SIP students.  This event provides a chance for the children to meet their new classmates and ease their concerns about starting middle school. Parents of children currently in 5th grade are asked to consider volunteering to help organize this event.

Other Social Events

We are always interested in providing opportunities for BADGE families and friends to connect socially.  We participate in the Bensalem Library's Family Game Nights and welcome suggestions and assistance in planning other activities.  Contact This email address is being protected from spambots.
