Meetings
Throughout the year, BADGE schedules informative and thought-provoking programs ranging from presentations by experts in the field of gifted education, to forums for parents and teachers, to presentations by teachers, students, and former students. Additional issue-oriented meetings are called as they are needed, and frequently committees are formed to work together on solutions to specific problems.
All meetings begin at 7pm and are held either in-person at the Shafer Library (2nd Floor) or virtually via Zoom (link provided at registration).
A reminder: you do not have to be a BADGE member, have a child in the gifted program, or even live in Bensalem Township in order to attend BADGE meetings. We encourage you to invite any friends, neighbors, or relatives who might be interested in learning more about gifted education to join us.
Information Tables
Often the parents with the most questions about gifted education are those whose children have not yet been identified. To reach these parents and others, BADGE volunteers offer information and handouts at the Back To School Nights, at 9th grade orientation, and at Bensalem Fall Festival
In you are interested in volunteering for one of these events or would like more information about how you can help, please contact us at bensalemgifted@gmail.com. If not, please stop by to say hello!
5th Grade Transition Party
In June, BADGE sponsors a bowling party for the 5th grade SIP students. This event provides a chance for the children to meet their new classmates and ease their concerns about starting middle school. Parents of children currently in 5th grade are asked to consider volunteering to help organize this event.
